Ducere Global Business School is extremely proud to announce its newest MBA Industry Partner for 2019 – National Association of Women in Operations (NAWO).

This partnership is of great significance to both organisations due to the alignment of their objectives – Ducere’s mission being to connect students with real world learning to excel their future as a global citizen and NAWO aiming to equip members with the tools, resources and networks they need to successfully drive and navigate their own careers.

During the next few months, the Ducere MBA Project Team will embark on an industry project delivering a white paper on gender diversity, which includes existing practices in the NAWO membership and further recommended actions to attract, retain and develop the pipeline of female talent in the operations industries.

Who are NAWO?

NAWO is the peak body championing women in operations. NAWO is an incorporated not-for-profit association lead by an unpaid Board of dedicated senior professionals who are driven by NAWO’s vision – a world where women and men can be equally represented and valued at every level.

NAWO’s mission is twofold:

  • NAWO inspires and supports women to reach their full potential and achieve their chosen career goals
  • NAWO inspires and supports organisations to create inclusive workplaces, to attract and retain the best talent and reach their chosen objectives

NAWO’s focus areas are:

  • Innovative events and networking
  • Accessible, high quality professional development programs
  • Collaboration and partnerships
  • Connecting the network of their member companies
  • Extending support to regional members
  • Male inclusion at all levels
  • Building the pipeline of female talent in the operations industries

NAWO has over 55 corporate members and reaches more than 6500 people through this network of operational businesses.

Melissa Donald, NAWO Board Member and Ducere MBA Alumni says:

“Having undertaken the Ducere MBA I have had the privilege of experiencing firsthand the value of practical and industry focused MBA project work. As a passionate supporter of NAWO I see this partnership delivering critical insights into gender diversity issues in operational businesses and am delighted that Ducere and NAWO are collaborating on this important work, benefiting both our members and the broader industry.”

Di Fleming, Chair of Ducere Group, responded.

"Our partnership with NAWO evokes the colours and aspiration of International Women’s Day: purple for strength, green for hope in future and white for purity of purpose. I am confident that these aspirations will be integrated and articulated by the men and women working together in the dynamic MBA project in a joint effort to improve the recognition and development of female talent within operations industries."
